About the Fundraiser
Friendship Mission, Inc. began in 1996 as a church and men’s homeless shelter in Montgomery County, Alabama. Pastor Vince Rosato and his wife Mary founded and operated the shelter until their retirement. Over the years, Friendship Mission has grown. The men’s shelter and church eventually moved into Montgomery’s city limits and a separate shelter location opened under the same name for women in need with or without children. Today, Friendship Mission, Inc. is comprised of two HUD-approved emergency shelters and a public soup kitchen. The Mission’s program works to help those in need build a personal plan to self-sufficiency and independent living.

Melissa Warnke made her first candle in 2012, which she poured inside a vintage tea cup. Over the years, her unique candles grew in popularity. With an eye for style and design, Melissa continued honing her craft, and her hobby became a full-fledged business when she debuted her line of hand-gilded candles in 2019. The stunning and distinctive look turned her candles into instant bestsellers, but the high-quality ingredients and long-burning, long-lasting fragrances of the candles kept customers coming back again and again.

Burn Instructions: On the first burn, allow the pool of wax to extend to the outside rim of the jar to set its memory. Each time you burn the candle again, it will continue to burn to the rim. Keep wicks trimmed to 1/4" and directed away from the sides of the container. Burn candles on a protective, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts.
WARNING: Candles should not be burned for more than 3 hours at a time. Burning a candle for long periods of time when the wax is very low could cause the glass container to explode. Burn within sight. Keep away from flammable objects. Keep away from children and pets.
